How to simulate push between 2 objects

I want to simulate the case that a rod pushing a wedge-shaped ramp and to see how the ramp deforms. The configuration is shown in the attached picture.
What physics can I use and can anyone give me a brief process flow? I have tried solid mechanics and multibody dynamics but after I add constraints (and load, etc) and calculate it just get unconverged. Thank you very much!
