Object movement

Dear COMSOL Community,

As a part of my thesis i have to simulate an up and down movement of a cylinder (e.g. plastic, iron) in a liquid (water). I constructed both the cylinder and the iron.

how do i make the movement? do i need the multibody dynamic module?
if not what then?

Hope you can help me, because COMSOl was never a part of my course.

best regards
Joe A.

You would need phase field and deforming geometry model.

Thank you!

Do I need the "deformed geometry" model (dg) or the "moving mesh" model (ale)?
Because if I use ALE, then I can't select anything in "prescripted mesh velocity".
It says "not applicable".

Thanks in advance!
