Hello,

I am new for comsol. I am trying to understand the equation use for comosl. The equation for study controlled contained term for "0 = div * sigma + Fv + sigma (Mv X n) z/d^2".

sorry for the fomation for the equation. * is represented for dot. sigma is represented for stress.

How to understand each term?

Regards,

Hi Margaret,

You cannot really learn much from this equation. You need to refer to the theory section in the chapter about the Shell interface in the user's guide to get any real information.

What is shown in the equation display should not be considered as the complete theory more than for some simple features. It is more of an indication of what a certain feature does. In this case, the intent is to show the general solid mechanics equilibrium equations, but with a volume load which comes also from a bending moment. It is conceptual, at best.

Regards,
Henrik
