simulating transient effects in semiconductor crystals

I am trying to find the best software with which I can simulate the following system: the optical response of a temporally short change in the refractive index of a semiconductor crystal - the change in the refractive index only lasts for a few picoseconds. Does Comsol support such simulation? if so, which modules I should use to build it?
