Internal boundary conditions in the weak form

I'm quite a beginner of using Comsol so I'm really lost right now. In order to get use to how to use the weak form interface in Comsol I start with a 1D example. The geometry consists of two intervals. And to start with I have defined just one field in each interval (for example A1 and A2). I think I managed to define the weak form in both intervals and using the weak contribution for implementing the boundary conditions at the outer boundary.
My question now is how to define a continuity condition at the internal boundary (like A1=A2 at that point)?
I found a closely related discussion here
www.comsol.com/community/forums/general/thread/26354/
But unfortunately, I don't understand how they final solve the problem and they also discus the topic there in the context of the AC/DC model.
I would be very grateful for any help and thanks in advance
