Undesirable fine meshing in narrow faces

I am modeling a quarter of an RF system with two electrodes and a load between them (pic attached). I have two questions here:
1. Can I assign the symmetric for the edges of the top electrode?
2. When I do the meshing, I got a very fine meshing on these edges (pic attached). Is there a way to have normal meshing specified for these edges?

Hi

if you have a "polyline" with many segments, the mesher will make a fine mesh. You can try with a manual mesh and tweak manualy the parameters

Check the doc for their different use & definitions

You can apply symmetry conditions on the boundaries. If you have also a boundary (thin surface) physics, indeed I would consider to add a symmetry condition for the edge (2nd level boundary w.r.t. 3D domain, but a "bondary" for the "surface" physics. But its something I havent tried out so it's purely a guess, you must check if it's possible and if it has some influence, not sure
