Problem with importing JPG photo

Dear all, I want to Import a 2D Photo in order to draw the geometry on it. I have tried to import it as add ins photo to curve but it is taking too much time and i got an error since the photo is complicated. Then i have tried to import it as a photo and i got the added result which is aweful. any suggesttions?
