question about three dimension (3D) plasmonic waveguide

Hi everyone,

Recently I have modeled a 3D plasmonic waveguide for calculating the transmission, utilizing boundary mode analysis and frequency analysis. The power flow distribution is fine (please see attached), but when I do the data process, no value for S parameter analysis.
I am stuck here, when I analyzed 2D waveguide, everything is fine, and the transmission can be simply obtained by using S parameter analysis. I have no idea about 3D model. Anybody faced the same question?
Or I forget the S parameter analysis here, are there any method could obtain the transmission?
If you know, I really appreciate you can do me a favor.

Regards,
Marvin

Hi Marvin,

I'm sure this is not the reply you are expecting.

I am working on the similar topic, i.e. wave propagation through surface plasmon waveguide. To start with I'm interested in reproducing the results from this paper Optics Express, Vol. 16, Issue 25, pp. 20227-20240 (2008). However, I failed to do so.
As you have mentioned in your message you had no problem in 2D simulation, I was wondering if you can share your 2d model with me.

Thank you

Kind regards
kapil
