how is it possible to point out the breaking of a beam, whatever the material is ???

hi

i'm in third year of a bachelor degree in earth sciences (licence 3 in french), and i'm quite a freshman with comsol 4.4.

i am trying to point out the specific constraint with which a beam will break, whatever the material i am using (from granite to steel).

my model includes :
a beam of 2.5*0.05*0.07 [m]
a load edge at 1 [m] on the x axis and at 0.07 on z axis in order to simulate a load or a force applying on that edge
a body load
2 fixed constraints on the smallest boundaries on the yz plane at x=0 and at x=2.5

according to what i noticed the last 3 weeks on that software, comsol 4.4 is always calculating an elastic deformation instead of the breaking point, but i think that it is nevertheless possible to picture it with a curve or with any other way, just i can't find it alone...

thank you beforehand for answering

tonin

ps : sorry for the writting mistakes ...
