Change young's modulus according to solutions

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear all,

In my model, I use the FSI module and I define that if the von mises stress in the solid is larger than 1e5 Pa, the young’s modulus reduces from 2e8 to 10. Therefore, I add a Domain ODE module and write ‘EE-(10*(fsi.mises>1e5)+2e8*(fsi.mises<=1e5))’ in the source term (EE is the dependent variable, namely young's modulus), and the initial value for EE is 2e8, but the result shows that young’s modulus does not go down to 10 if the stress exceeds the certain value, like shown in the figure attached. Would you please give me some advice on reducing E values using ODE?

Thanks,
Tianhang
