Contact of two compartments with narrowing fluid section

I am trying to create a time-dependent contact model of two solid sections, initially not in contact. In the middle, there is a fluid compartment that will narrow while the two solid sections become closer to each other. Is there a way of modelling that fluid section in a way that, when the two solid sections are in contact, the fluid section disappears or becomes very thin in the adjacent regions of the solid contact?
