Difference between 'Species Source' and 'Reactions'

In Chemical transport in diluted solutions module, are "species source" and "reactions" two different things? To me they look and mean the same. Could someone shed some light on this?

Also I am unable to select domains for species source but I can do the same for reactions. Confused.
