Keynote: Influence of Groundwater Circulation on Grid Capacity

To research the influence of groundwater convection on the ampacity of a cable system, Kevin X. Authier and his team at Duurzaam Energie Perspectief (DEP), a subsidiary of Alliander, used COMSOL Multiphysics^®. In a keynote talk at the COMSOL Conference 2025 Amsterdam, Authier outlines the four-step process his team employs to carry out cable load capacity calculations and chain analyses to ensure that the use of existing grid systems is being maximized.
