Rescaling Extinction Cross Section of Gold Nanorod

I'm currently working fromthe model "Optical Scattering Off of a Gold Nanosphere" located at https://www.comsol.com/model/optical-scattering-off-of-a-gold-nanosphere-14697 but I have replaced the sphere with a gold nanorod (a cylinder capped on either end with hemispheres). When I run the model, I have the light polarized parallel to the length of the nanorod so that I excite the main plasmon peak. However, in a physical sample illuminated from a light source, the light is unpolarized, so the cross section from COMSOL is too large. What is the proper rescaling factor?
