Initial values for a time range

Hi,

I have a question about initial conditions in COMSOL. Is it possible to have initial values for a time range? I want to produce the ground temperature profile using an expression in initial values node (and not in temperature node). This mathematical expression contains the variables z and t. But unfortunately, only a specified time (by default, t=0) is used in analysis and the time range defined for the expression is not considered. It would be great if you can help me.

Best regards, David

Hi, David,

I am very interested in your work. I am building a thermo-hydro-mechanical model of frozen soil. You said you want to produce the ground temperature profile. Do you mean that you set the T as a variable of z and t? What z means ? Have you tried to set T as a variable t only ? The error might be your expression when the problem won't occur. And would you like to share your mph files?

Best wishes, Senhao
