this is certainly a very interesting but also very ambitious project. I cannot contribute much because we are not doing Chemical Reaction Engineering at the moment.
I would recommend to perform an extensive research on literature, the COMSOL knowledge base, the model gallery, contributions from the COMSOL conferences and so forth.
Then look into one physics aspect after the other.
Would certainly be interesting to hear something about your efforts in the future.

Thank you very much for the advice. I will definitely look into literature since I cannot find any similar model on the COMSOL community website. If I happen to build and solve an interesting model I will share it.
