error using SiO2 as dielectric material in mosfet

Hi,

I am getting following error when using SiO2 as dielectric material in mosfet.

Undefined value found.
- Detail: Undefined value found in the equation residual vector.
There are 90 degrees of freedom giving NaN/Inf in the vector for the variable comp1.Ne.
at coordinates: (1.11001e-006,9.94028e-007), (1.13e-006,9.94023e-007), (1.15e-006,9.94019e-007), (1.17001e-006,9.94015e-007), (1.19001e-006,9.94007e-007), ...

I got proper results when I used inbuilt 'Thin insulator Gate' but I need to use SiO2 for gate insulator so that further I can transform it into ISFET.

I would suggest that if you have a material that works, you should replace each value in the working material with what you want to use, one at a time, and troubleshoot from there. You could also post the material properties and see if somebody knows the answers.

Thank you for your reply. But now I am getting the same error for any insulator material and can't do the troubleshoot. Is that error due to some wrong values of material property values or something else?

You could post your file and see if anyone else could help. If you had a simulation that worked ok, you should go back to that one and change that one with what you want to do. To me it seems like you are missing something in your material definition. W/o seeing the file I would be guessing. If this is being done in the semiconductor module, I am of very little help because I do not have it. Perhaps screen shots would work ok. Do you get any red flags in the materials section?
