inverse problems, defined as mean square optimisation problems are readily solved, you need to define your global variable for the k heat conduction such that your overall conditions are fulfilled. This is what COMSOL uses internally for many specific BC definitions. Check the doc, more in the optimisation but you do not need the optimisation module for one variable. I.e. V3.5 structural doc how to apply torque moment loads
