The Silver-Back Reflector Results Defy Common Sense

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

According to the general understanding, if the 0.5 micron Ag is covered with a 5 micron thick aluminum oxide film, the film should be like a mirror, reflecting at least 90% of the sunlight (I calculated the reflectivity of 0.3 to 4 microns), but my calculation obviously does not meet my understanding. One is the result that I calculate with transfer matrix, the other is Comsol, two results are very cotton thread is different.!!I added ports on the top of aluminum oxide and the bottom of silver. PML boundary conditions and periodic boundary conditions were used! Please help me to check where the setting is wrong, thank you! Have a nice day!
