restricted stress in time dependent problem

Hello evrybody,

I m using a time dependent problem of a beam restricted at both ends. When we apply voltage or temperature, it produces stress greater than 500 MPa. Can anyone help me how to restricted stress upto 500 MPa for each iteration.

Hi

how do you want to restrict the stress ? you can use a parameteric sweep and increase the temperature in steps, and then stop, or you define the temperarture as a global variable and you get COMSOL to otimise its value such that the stress is some 500MPa. But you need to define which stress and where, and usin min maxoperators during solving is very costly (there is a model library example of thermal T control to reach a given temperature at a given point in a model
