Call data from dependent variable

I had a time and space dependent variable u1 which is a matrix of time t(s) and length x(m). I want to extract a value from u1 example value of u1 at t=0.5s and x=0.1m to using in an other independent variable. Could you please show me the phrase, example as in matlab u1(m,n)?
