Using Thermal Expansion as initial condition for solid mechanics

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi everybody,

At first a short description of my problem:
I have a geometry which is deformed by thermal expansion.
After the calculation of stress and deformation using thermal expansion i want to set up a boundary load (pressure) onto the goemetry.
I dont know how to use the stress from thermal expansion as initial condition for my solid mechanics. I want a prestressed geometry which i can use for further studies.
I cant bring up the thermal expansion and the pressure at the same time because the constraint conditions i need would sophisticate the stress applied throug thermal expansion.

I hope somebody can help me.
Thanks
