The shift in the global mobility industry toward developing electric-powered transport has created a need for an agile approach in the R&D of electric motors. Multiphysics simulation reduces the need for physical prototyping, enabling engineers to perform quick iterations at a fraction of the cost. In addition, different physics phenomena that occur during motor operation can be combined in a single model to obtain accurate performance prediction through simulation.

Tune in to this webinar organized in collaboration with Autocar Professional to explore the power of simulation, for designing high-performance electric motors. This session includes a live demonstration and concludes with a Q&A session.

We will discuss:

  • How to model permanent magnet motors, brushless DC motors, and induction motors
  • How to combine different physical effects to model phenomena such as temperature rise due to power losses , rotor induced vibrations and motor noise
  • How to examine and optimize parameters influencing motor performance such as cogging and rotor torque, air gap MMF, and electromagnetic losses
