The rapid evolution of the global transportation industry toward the use of clean energy has created the need for an agile approach in the R&D of electric motors. Simulation helps speed up the testing phase of the product development cycle by reducing the need for physical prototyping, enabling engineers to perform quick iterations at a fraction of the cost. In addition, different physics phenomena that occur when a motor is running can be combined in a single model to obtain accurate results through simulation.

Tune into this interactive webinar to explore the power of simulation, for designing high-performance electric motors. This session includes a live software demonstration, and we encourage you to ask questions during the webinar as well as in the Q&A session at the end.

We will discuss:

  • How to model permanent magnet motors, induction motors, and linear motors
  • How to combine different physical effects to model phenomena such as structural stresses, rotor-induced vibrations, noise emission, and temperature rise due to power dissipation
  • How to examine and optimize parameters influencing motor efficiency such as rotor torque, as well as iron and copper losses, including the effects of temperature rise
  • How simulation can help engineers design high-performance motors through multivariable optimization in a time- and cost-efficient manner
